25 years of access control
Conlan was founded in 1991 by a group of students from Aalborg University, who wanted to develop and produce a simple, beautiful and easy-to-use code keypad. After a number of years of development, this project resulted in the well-known CT2000, which at the time was used exclusively as a by-passer. To this day, the CT2000 is still part of the company's product range.
Danish design and production
Conlan develops and produces all its access control readers in Aalborg. Until the summer of 2015, all production took place in the company's own facilities, but due to increased demands they engaged a subcontractor to deal with part of the assembly work. The new associate is also based in Aalborg, a mere 500 metres from the company's own premises. This means that today they can deliver major orders much more quickly than in the past.
Beautiful design and products that last
Design is one of the main reasons for customers buying Conlan's products. The aesthetic aspect has always played a major role in the company's evolution: as have sturdiness and service life. Their more recent product line comes in sizes to match the design of Danish buildings' other electrical installations, making the readers simpler to install. The keys on the keypads are manufactured with capacitive touch. In other words, there are no physical buttons under the film. This provides the user with a seamless experience. At the same time, the keys cannot get worn or break, or reveal what keys are being used. All readers are moulded into rubber, making them 100% waterproof and heat/cold resistant.
